In order to describe the history of Made With Love Community, I need to start with HERSTORY. Herstory is my story and how I started Made with Love. My name is Emma and I am the founder of Made with Love Community. It all started before I even first joined Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta. My parents took my brother and I to share a Christmas Dinner with members of our community experiencing homelessness. It was in 2013 and I still remember how it impacted me. I remember seeing friends my age with their families worried about how cold it was getting. I had just turned 7 and did not really understand many things about life. But I do remember feeling fortunate for having a thick coat to keep me warm.

A couple of years later, I joined Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta! I was excited to be a part of Troop 3515! Our Troop Leaders were/are amazing. We had so many activities and were constantly involved doing something fun and exciting. Not only was I having fun but I made friends who still hold a very dear place in my heart. One friend in particular even started to teach me the art of crocheting.

In all the activities we did with Girl Scouts, we were encouraged to do the Bronze Award, then the Silver Award and finally the GOLD AWARD. To me the Gold Award symbolizes a recap of all the wonderful years and times I experienced with my Troop. I wanted my Gold Award to be about something I believed in and cared about. Many ideas crossed my mind as options for my project, but I always came back to those Christmas Dinners my family and I shared with friends going through a hard time. I wanted to do something that I could share with my peers that could show them how we all need to be empathetic and respectful to all.
Made with Love Community aims to reach everyone and I hope my efforts will make a positive impact on a persons life.
